JioSaavn has announced that users can now share a song, playlist or podcast on Facebook and Instagram Stories directly from the app using a new “Share” option. Once a user selects a song to share to the social media, he/she can just tap the “Share” button in the overflow menu near the name of the song, and choose the platform. One can add their choice of stickers or GIFs in the Stories camera app and then the share as their own personal story.
“As the world’s largest media companies and platforms continue to eye India’s growing network of high-speed data subscribers, JioSaavn is committed to ensuring users receive a targeted premium social music experience that is culturally relevant and enjoyable,” Jaikaran Sawhny, Chief Platform Officer, JioSaavn, said in a statement.
On the integration with Facebook and Instagram, he said, “Our integration with Instagram brings 50 million tracks in 16 languages to one of the most powerful social sharing platforms on the planet, inspiring millions of JioSaavn users to celebrate and share their favorite Indian and International music with friends and followers.” As of January 2019, Instagram Stories and Facebook Stories have over 500 million daily active users each globally.
JioSaavn was launched last year and is the culmination of Reliance Jio and Saavn joining hands to create a new music streaming platform. When the app was made official, both JioMusic and Saavn users, their libraries, playlists and downloaded songs were migrated to the new platform. The app is available on both Android and iOS. On Android, the app has been installed over 100 million times, and on iOS it is trending at number 3 spot in “Music” category.
