PUBG Lite (not to be confused with PUBG Mobile Lite) will get an Open Beta from August 8. The Open Beta will bring a new game mode in the form of a 4v4 team deathmatch, in which the first team to get a score of 30 will win the game. With the new mode comes a new map, images of which have been teased online. Judging by those images, the new map will feature a central warehouse, with the two teams spawning on opposite ends. PUBG Mobile players may be feeling a sense of deja vu as a similar version of the map is used in the team deathmatch mode on PUBG Mobile.
Another addition introduced with the Open Beta is a new season pass. Dubbed the ‘Lite Pass’, it works in a manner similar to royale passes on the full version of the game. The base Lite Pass is free and will be available to all players. This will reward players as they level up by completing missions. There is also a Premium version of Lite Pass which offers more exclusive rewards and missions.
PUBG Lite was made available in India last month. As the name would suggest, it is a ‘lite’ version of PUBG PC. Further, the game is free to play and the minimum requirements aren’t as high has the standard PC version. The game requires at least an Intel Core i3 processor and at least 4GB RAM. It also runs on an Intel HD Graphics 4000, and needs about 4GB of storage space.
Soon after PUBG Lite was launched, India also recieved PUBG Mobile Lite. This version of the game was designed to run on phones with RAM less than 2GB. As such, it can run on Android Go devices such as the Redmi Go. This version of the game limits the total number of players to 60 and introduces a smaller version of Erangel.
