Samsung has unveiled a new Chromebook at CES 2020. The device is called Galaxy Chromebook and it is a 2-in-1 product. It comes with a built-in stylus and supports Google Assistant as well. The Samsung Galaxy Chromebook is touted to be the thinnest Chromebook with 9.9mm thickness. Moreover, it is the first Chromebook from the company to sport a 4K AMOLED display. The device weighs 1.04kg.
Samsung Galaxy Chromebook runs Chrome OS and features a13.3-inch 4K AMOLED touchscreen display (3840 x 2160 pixels). It will soon get HDR400 support to deliver high-contrast graphics, along with Ambient EQ capabilities. This feature will not be available at time of launch but will be introduced later in the year via a software update. The device is powered by 10th Gen Intel Core i5 processor, paired with Intel UHD graphics. Thanks to Click-to-Call and Messaging apps, users can use the features present on the Samsung smartphone directly on the Galaxy Chromebook.
The Galaxy Chromebook comes equipped with up to 16GB LPDDR3 RAM and up to 1TB SSD. It comes equipped with 2 x 2W Stereo speakers, backlit keyboard and a built-in pen. On the I/O front, the Galaxy Chromebook comes with 2 x USB Type-C ports, 3.5mm audio jack, and UFS/MicroSD card reader. It packs a 49.2Wh battery.
The Galaxy Chromebook comes with two cameras: a 1MP one the display and another 8MP camera on the keyboard deck. It has an internal digital dual array microphone + mono microphone.
Samsung Galaxy Chromebook is priced at $999.99 (Rs 71,800 approx). It is all set to go on sale in the first quarter of 2020. The device will be made available in Fiesta Red and Mercury Gray colour options.
