Reliance Jio recently announced that it will be levying Interconnection Usage Charge (IUC) from its users for calls placed to other networks. Along with the announcement, the telco announced new recharge top-ups and revised its existing plans so that one could purchase IUC minutes along with its standard plans. Now, Jio has announced new All-In-One plans that are touted to offer more data and voice benefits over its existing plans. Priced at Rs 222, Rs 333 and Rs 444, the plans credit 2GB data per day and have a validity of one, two and three months respectively.
Along with free daily data, Jio users will get unlimited free calls to other users on á¹he Jio network, along with non-Jio FUP of 1,000 minutes. This means that the company is bundling 1,000 IUC minutes with its new All-In-One packs. Additionally, earlier benefits like free SMS and access to Jio’s suite of apps are still available. One thing to note with Jio’s new plans is the ability to extend any of the three existing plans by a month by paying Rs 111. So, as an example, if you have opted for the Rs 333 plan, you can pay an additional Rs 111 to extend the benefits for an additional month.
We checked Jio’s website but the new plans are not listed at the time of publishing this article. Also, on comparing the new All-In-One plans with the telcos existing plans, the former do deliver better value for money. The most affordable 2GB per day plan by Jio with one-month validity is currently priced at Rs 198. For 1000 IUC minutes, one will either need to opt for Rs 100 top-up voucher, which bumps up the plan’s price to Rs 298. In this sense, the new Rs 222 plan by the company makes more sense since you get the same amount of data for one month, along with 1,000 IUC minutes.
